Virgia Delois Powell was born on March 23, 1963, to the late Wade Powell, Sr. and Annie Mae Caldwell in Jackson, Tennessee. She departed from this life on October 5, 2024.
Virgia was educated in the Madison County School System and was a 1982 graduate of Northside High School. She continued her education and became a graduate of Jackson State Community College on May 9, 2020. She was a Healthcare Technician and also had a long career providing childcare to all of her sister’s children, nephews, cousin and the entire family.
She leaves to cherish her sweet and lasting memories, one son, Valentino Gray; one daughter, Nancy Adkisson; two grandchildren that she help raise, Maci and Damoni; seven sisters, Carrie Mae McFarland, Fannie Beasley, Annie Mae Peet, all of Brownsville, Tennessee; Elizabeth Ann Rutherford, Gustee (James) Ellison, Leara (Eugene) Robinson, all of Jackson, Tennessee and Henrietta Hillsman of Tresvant, Tennessee; one brother, Wade (Jennifer) Powell, Jr. of Jackson, Tennessee; a special new nephew whom she raised as her own, Terry Tank Woolfork and a host of many other relatives and friends.
