Michael Jerome Hennings also known as (Rough House) was born February 15, 1953, in Jackson, TN to the late Thelma Givens. He departed this earthly life on June 5, 2024.
Michael was a 1971 graduate of West High School. He professed a hope in Christ at an early age at Blairs Chapel CME Church, but later joined Bethlehem #1 Missionary Baptist Church.
Michael worked various jobs during his life, but more notably, he worked for the City of Jackson Street Department as a concrete finisher for about 5 years. He then went on to start his own business, Henning and Son concrete finishers, where he worked side by side with his son, Marcus.
Michael was a 33 Degree Mason. He was the past Worship Master of Hennings Lodge #1 and past Grand Master of St. James Grand Lodge.
Michael was a dedicated family man that always knew how to make you laugh, but he was never afraid to speak the truth.
He was preceded in death by his mother Thelma Givens, his daughter Tiketia Hennings-Currie, one sister, Elaine Givens, four brothers, James Givens, Bruce Givens, Larry Hennings Sr., and Stanley Givens.
Those left to cherish his loving memories are his wife Georgia Hennings, his son Marcus (Valerie) Hennings of Beech Bluff, TN, and his daughter Latorria (Cortez) Hennings of Olive Branch, MS. He leaves his brothers Charles (Rita) Hennings of Chicago, Illinois, K.C. (Regina) Givens of San Barbara, California, Percy (Martha) Givens, Perry Jr. (Jennifer) Givens and one sister Ella Williams all of Jackson, TN. He also leaves his loving memories with his grandchildren Monique (Squirt) and Braylon (Big Man) Hennings. He also leaves his love with a host of aunts, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
