Melvin T. Eckford was born on September 5th,1959 in Jackson, TN to the late Mr. Joe Lewis Eckford and Mrs. Lola Mae Debose.
He was raised in Madison County, TN. He attended the public school system and graduated from Jackson Central Merry High School. Melvin made his transition from this earthly realm on July 21st, 2022.
Being a young adult, Melvin acknowledged Christ as his savior and united with Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Jackson, TN until his health began to decline.
Melvin was kindhearted, very generous, and full of laughter. He enjoyed watching sports, playing spades, and most importantly spending time with his children as he was a dedicated father raising some of his children on his own. Melvin had a great work ethic with over 30 years at Bruce/Armstrong Hardwood floor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons Melvin Pack Jr, and Michael Glenn, two brothers Marvin and Kenny Eckford.
Melvin leaves to cherish his memories: Sons; Bryan Eckford of Jackson, Tennessee, Marquez (Keith) Eckford of Antioch, Tennessee : Daughters; Tapanaga, Creosa, and SaMeriah Eckford all of Jackson, Tennessee : Sisters ; Cathy Eckford-McCarter(Eric) Jackson, Tennessee Molene Mackey of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Lisa Mayes of Cadiz, Kentucky : Brothers ; Floyd Eckford, Loyce Eckford (Veronica) , Kenneth Rhea Eckford (Shawn) , David Mackey (Evon) all of Jackson, TN, uncle Joe Bailey of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, aunt Florence Ranson of New York, and close friends Boo Ward and Ruby as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
