Mamie Ruth Bruce was born on April 17, 1939, in Jackson, Tennessee to the late Mammie Lee Bruce and Rufus Bruce. She departed this life on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. In 1962, 

Mamie Ruth was united in holy matrimony to the late Joe Smith. Mamie was educated in the Madison County School System. She was a home care provider for many years and was a fun, loving person who will be truly missed.

Those who shared and cherished her memories are, her loving and devoted daughters, Patrica (Melvin) Cooper of Jackson, Tennessee and LaKiesha Jones of Memphis, Tennessee; sons, Willie Joe, Charlie Ivery and Lee Smith, all of Jackson, Tennessee; nieces, Mary Jordan of Holly Springs, Mississippi and Georgette Harris of Memphis, Tennessee; nephew, James Bruce, Sr. of Jackson, Tennessee; a dear friend and cousin (Riding Buddy), Steve Bruce and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.
