Ira Benard Croom, commonly known as "Buddy", passed away with his family at his side on Monday, September 16, 2024, at the age of 59. He was born on February 20, 1965, in Bolivar, Tennessee to the late J.W. (Peck) and Willie Mae Williams Croom. He was the youngest of ten children. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. "He knew God".
"Buddy" was a fun-loving person who loved life and lived it to its fullest. That same love was shown in a "very special way" towards his family. His love of boxing, motorcycles, fishing, family, friends and a deep compassion for the needy, were just a few of his many qualities. Along with his special dance move, "The Buddy Leg Twist". If you knew him, you would know!
"Buddy" was preceded in death by his parents, J.W. and Willie Mae Croom, and one brother, Larry "Dobie" Croom.
He leaves to cherish his memories: daughter, Alyssa Croom of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; one brother, Lethaniel "Bobo" Croom of Grand Rapids, Michigan; seven sisters, Gloria Herron, Peggy Johnson, Anita Croom, Jo Ann (Calvin) Taylor, and Beverly Croom all of Jackson, Tennessee, Lovell (John Henry) McClellan of Oakfield, Tennessee and Elect Martha Croom Beard of Henning, Tennessee. Along with a host of nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. To Danyell, Maxie, and Adrian Johnson, you all brought joy to his life through your special relationship with him as your adopted father.
